With more and more of the addons for the Steam Edition growing it becomes even MORE enjoyable over time. FSX: Steam Edition can handle just about everything that the boxed version could not. PS - I can't wait for Schiphol - I hope this will not use AESLite or require AES for the jetways. PC Pilot confirmed that the compilers are more modern, the texture loading is different and I can confirm that the VAS usage and smoothness is much better. Looking forward to some good news on this front !įSX-SE is really good compared to FSX-boxed edition. Not sure about your latest airports Toronto and Sydney - do they require Vistamare ? If they do, I will sadly have to hold off purchasing until there is a solution. Vienna is a great example of an airport that works perfectly in FSX-SE - without Vistamare (AESLite / AES). If you think that Vistamare is going nowhere, do you have any plans for patches for the airports that have been developed requiring it ? Airports are just not the same without animated traffic and jetways. Aerosoft are rather cagey about committing to any update or solution. (not sure of complete list) require it for the animated traffic. It is so frustrating at the moment as Athens, Copenhagen, Dubai etc. EnjoyĪny news on when Vistamare will be made compatible with FSX-SE ? Are you able to put some pressure on the developer to update the dll's ? This is, as far as I know, the only addon that is still not compatible with FSX-SE. Hope this helps you jump back into Flight simming and I do HIGHLY recommend FSX: Steam Edition without any doubt. IMHO airport scenery such as FLYTampa and FlightBeam are topnotch and worth the money. So be prepared to spend hundreds of whatever currency you use on addons that help a tad bit. This wish will probably not happen for some time. I do have on my wishlist a 64bit version that will help put to rest all of the crappy scenery that is an eye soar with or without scenery addons. I personally am very pleased with the Steam Edition for its ability to handle just about all that you can throw at it unlike its Legacy boxed crappy older brother.
